Ceau, Cinema! is a pocket-size independent film festival made by volunteers and film enthusiasts with the support of local companies and cultural partners.

Ticket sales and sponsorships will be used to cover the organizational expenses and the purchase of films.

Asociaţia Marele Ecran


The Association Marele Ecran from Timişoara is dedicated to bringing forward the art cinema, the Romanian, the European and the world cinema, as an alternative to the commercial cinema industry.

Producers of the German Black-and-White Days, traditional partners of the French Cultural Institute and the German Consulate from Timişoara, curator of the Movie House at Plai Festival (together with Pelicula Culturală) and of the Cinematheque from the House of Arts (the Timiș County Direction for Culture), fiercely hold the idea of a permanent cinematheque in Timişoara.

Pelicula Culturală


Pelicula Culturală is an independent project aiming to promote the European cinema and the multicultural space from Timișoara. Its main activity consists in organizing European film nights, in historic places in Timișoara.

The screenings also have a social responsibility component, the tickets being the most unexpected ones: toys, flower bulbs, writing materials and other useful objects for the local community. Cultural partners of the association: the Polish Institute from Bucharest, the Embassy of Portugal in Romania, the Camões Institute, the General Consulate of Serbia in Timişoara, the Faculty of Music from Timişoara, the Association Macondo, Clorofilm etc.
