At its sixth edition, the Ceau, Cinema! Film Festival from Timişoara announces the call for submission for the International Competition section, which will take place during July 18th – 21st, 2019.
It is dedicated to European feature films, documentaries or animations from 2018 and 2019.
The Ceau, Cinema! Competition provides a setting for the cinematographic expression of the filmmakers whose countries have been represented by minorities in the Banat region: Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Israel, Italy, Poland, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ucraine, Hungary. There will only be accepted the films whose main producer comes from one of the above listed countries.
As a tradition, the Competition is intended to reflect the amazing diversity of the European independent cinema, through a selection of six original and bold films.
The Competition curator is the film critic Ionuț Mareș.
The Ceau, Cinema! Competition Grand Award „Răzvan Georgescu”, selected by the jury which brings together three cinema personalities, shall amount €1.000 and shall be offered by Vitas Romania. The trophy shall be given to the director of the winning film.
The Audience Award, of €500, shall be, as well, given to a film submitted in the Competition section.
The producers/distributors must fill in the submission form, which is available on ceaucinema.ro, together with all the details on the competition regulations.
The submission deadline is April 25th, 2019!
The Trophy „Răzvan Georgescu” for the best film in competition in 2018 went to „3/4”, of the Bulgarian director Ilian Metev. The jury was made of the director Florin Iepan, the actress Alina Grigore and the film critic Ileana Bîrsan. The Audience Award was assigned ex æquo to the Croatian film „Comic Sans”, by Nevio Marasović, and the Ukrainian film „Falling”, by Marina Stepanska.
The sixth edition of the Ceau, Cinema! Festival will take place during July 18th-21st, 2019, in Timișoara and Gottlob (the first village in Romania with a renovated cinema).
Ceau, Cinema! Film Festival is dedicated to the European cinema and is organized by the Association „Marele Ecran” and the Association „Pelicula Culturală”.
The event is entirely made by volunteers, with the support of: Vitas Romania, Groupama Insurances, the French Institute of Timişoara, the German Cultural Centre of Timișoara, the Polish Institute from Bucharest, the „Csiky Gergely” Hungarian State Theatre from Timișoara, the Direction for Culture Timiş, Auăleu Theatre, Gottlob City Hall.
