Ouale lui Tarzan 3The story of „Tarzan’s Testicles”, recently presented at Karlovy Vary as well, takes place in Suhum, Abkhazia’s capital, a small republic officially unacknowledged, situated on the Oriental shore of the Black Sea. On a hill above the city spreads the garden of a monkey research medical institute, founded by the Soviets in the ‘20s. The legend says that it was designed in order to create a hybrid between man and monkey.

The creature has never been conceived, nor was the New Man of Communism born. Nowadays, men and monkeys are captive in a land torn by war and decades of cruelty, both of them being the victims of a series of unsuccessful experiments.

The after-screening Q&A will be attended by two of this year’s special guests, the director Alexandru Solomon and the producer Ada Solomon.

In partnership with One World Romania, Ceau, Cinema! will also screen two of the most popular documentaries from the last edition of the famous festival from Bucharest.
