WORKSHOP
This year, Ceau, Cineva! Workshop is dedicated to the first stages of preparing a script and is coordinated by filmmaker Cristina Groşan.
The ten participants in “Windows to Other Worlds” Workshop will learn the first steps in screenwriting, from how to choose the best ideas to how to present them in a pitch and how to conceive a script.
Also, participants will have access to screenings in the Ceau, Cinema! and will meet with some of the directors and producers invited to the festival, who will share their experience.
The workshop is addressed to people over 16 years old in Romania who want to learn more about how to prepare a fiction short film script, whether or not they have experience in the cinematographic field.
Cristina Groșan is a filmmaker born in Arad, active in the Hungarian and Czech film industries. Her latest film is “Ordinary Failures”, a dystopian drama set between the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy and Slovakia. The film premiered in the Giornate degli Autori section at the Venice Film Festival in 2022. Here, Cristina Groşan received the Award for Best Director under the age of 40. “Things Worth Weeping for”, her feature film debut, is a comedy-drama about the quests and wanderings of the millennial generation. Cristina Groşan also believes in the power of cinema in short form. After graduating in 2012, she made six short films, selected in various international festivals.
The workshop is supported by Vitas Romania.
