ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION

The anniversary exhibition offers a look into the past and behind the scenes of the festival, in the exact place where it began in 2014. At the House of Arts, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy for the first time together posters, art works, photographs, short videos, trophies and unique objects from the last nine years of cinematographic journey.

It is a way to show gratitude to all the visual artists who contributed to the distinctive image of the festival: Alin-Adnan Vasile, Felix Petrescu, Mircea Popescu, Mimi Ciora and the artists from Balamuc, Lucian Popovici, Thé Orion, Sorina (Vazelina) Vasilescu, Răzvan Cornici, Alexandru Săvescu, Amandine Bănescu, Levente Benedek, Lucian Muntean, Dan Ungureanu, joined, with two special drawings, by Ion Barbu and Dan Perjovschi.

The preparation of the exhibition was guided by artist and curator Mimi Ciora.

The ten days (July 6-16) will include guided tours with artists and members of the festival team, to show the working process from a first idea to the official poster. The exhibition, coordinated by Lucian Mircu, will be open to the public at the House of Arts (8 Episcop Augustin Pacha St.), on a daily basis, between 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. The entrance is free.

A similar form of gratitude for the community of cinema goers in the middle of which the festival has grown, is also the publication printed on the occasion of the 10th edition. The book, entitled “Making of Ceau, Cinema!”, is a visual and narrative review seen through the eyes of the organizers, partners, guests and loyal audience. It can also be read as a slice of history of the independent culture, especially of the passion for cinema, in Timişoara, in the last 15 years.

The anniversary exhibition is organized by the Associations Marele Ecran and Pelicula Culturală.
