WORKSHOP

The workshop is dedicated this year to young people passionate about cinematography and will be coordinated by the well-known cinematographer Ana Drăghici.

In the first part of the workshop, participants will learn the main elements of the visual language specific to film images. Based on sequences from films, they will learn how, why and what a cinematic frame is composed of.

Then, with the help of a film camera, they will recreate in practice some selected sequences. And finally, they will analyze together the frames filmed during the workshop.

Also, as part of the workshop, the selected young people will meet with the filmmakers invited to Ceau, Cinema! and will have free access, based on a badge, to the screenings in the program.

The workshop is addressed to young people between the ages of 16 and 25. Participation in the workshop is free.

​Ana Drăghici is a cinematographer based in Bucharest. She has over 15 years of experience. She began her career as a camera operator on the film “Aurora” (2010), directed by Cristi Puiu, then made her debut as a cinematographer with the film “Two Lottery Tickets” (2016), directed by Paul Negoescu, which – in addition to critical acclaim – was an unexpected box-office success. Since then, she has filmed several fiction and documentary feature films. Her films have been presented at many international festivals and have been distributed in Europe, the USA and Asia, including on platforms such as Netflix, HBO and SkyShowtime. Her latest film, “Atlas of the Universe”, won the Special Mention of the Generation Jury at the Berlin Film Festival this year. She is a member of the European Film Academy, ICFC (International Community of Female Cinematographers) and RSC (Romanian Society of Cinematographers) and currently teaches filmmaking at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca.
