Scriptwriting workshop held by the filmmaker Cristina Groşan at Ceau, Cinema!

Film enthusiasts are invited to apply for Ceau, Cineva! Workshop, which will focus on the first stages of script preparation and which will be held by the filmmaker Cristina Groşan within the 10th edition of Ceau, Cinema! Festival, in Timişoara.

During 13th – 16th July, those who will attend the “Ceau, Cineva! Workshop: Windows on other worlds” will learn the first steps of scriptwriting, from how to choose the best ideas to how to pitch them and how to develop a script.

Also, the trainees will have access to the screenings within Ceau, Cinema! and will meet some of the directors and producers invited in the festival, who will share their experience.

The workshop is intended for individuals over 16 from Romania, who wish to find out more on how to prepare a short feature film script, regardless of their experience in the cinema field.

The workshop is free. 10 trainees will be selected.

The deadline for submission is June 11th. The selected persons will be notified no later than June 23rd.

In order to be a trainee in the workshop, physical presence in all the meetings is mandatory.

The festival will not provide accommodation for the selected persons who are non-residents in   Timişoara.

Cristina Groșan is a filmmaker born in Arad, active in the Hungarian and Czech film industries. The latest film that she directed is ”Ordinary Failures”, a Czech-Hungarian-Slovak-Italian co-production dystopic drama. The film has had its premiere within the Giornate degli Autori section at the Venice Film Festival in 2022. On that occasion, Cristina Groşan received the “Best Director” Award in the “Authors Under 40” category. ”Things Worth Weeping For”, her feature film debut, is a comedy drama on the pursuits and wanderings of the millennials. Cristina Groşan believes in the power of short films, as well. After graduating the university in 2012, she made six short films, selected in various international festivals.

The 10th edition of Ceau, Cinema! Festival will take place during July 12th – 16th in Timişoara.

Ceau, Cinema! Festival is dedicated to European cinema and is organized by the Association Pelicula Culturală and founded together with the Association Marele Ecran.

The project is part of the National Cultural Programme „Timișoara–European Capital of Culture in 2023” and is funded through the programme European Echoes, conducted by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with amounts allotted from the state budget, through the Ministry of Culture budget.
